For over 10 years I have worked in sales in the direct and multi-channel marketing world. The changes in the last 5 years alone are incredible. The internet dominates the concerns of marketers today, whether they are catalog, web or retail storefronts. Without interactive dialogue with their customers businesses cannot grow, they cannot survive. Our solutions today are not one size fits all, they are one size fits one, the same way businesses have to reach out to their customers today.
I grew up overseas and spent my college years at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Following college I worked in Charlotte, North Carolina as a stock broker before getting into Direct Mail. I started working at Acxiom and later spent time at a B2B service bureau in Milwaukee called Paragon Direct. My move into sales at Donnelley Marketing and now Experian was as natural as breathing. I have always been a salesman at heart and being in sales during the information age is a rush.
Hearing Ronald Reagan give a speech at my college graduation was a real highlight. As a young man I met Hank Aaron and got a signed ball. These men were giants in their fields and I have challenged myself to make the most of my opportunities in my field as well.
